Casey “Coop” Cooper Has played baseball for Spring Valley for three years and has been a letterman since his freshman year.


What is your greatest high school thrill?
I would have to say is when I got my first region win pitching 7 innings and going 2-4 against Blythewood.



What anxieties do you have about entering college?
The only anxieties I have is just having to be on my own and away from my friends and family.



Do you plan on playing baseball beyond high school?
Yes I do plan on playing baseball after high school.



What goals do you have for yourself in and out of baseball?
To always give one hundred percent at everything, never give up and always finish something if it matters.



Who has made the greatest impression on you as a person and why?
I would have to say my Mom because we just think so much alike and she has been with me through so many things. She also sets a good example and taught me what in life is important, what isn’t and you can’t change outcomes- just get though it even if it’s tough.



Who has made the greatest impression on you as a baseball player and why?
My Uncle, he passed away in 2005 from cancer. He was at every one of my games since coach’s pitch and told me always be a champ. He just gave me so much confidence and so much drive to be great. To this very day, every time I step on the field, I think about the things he told me and how he believed that I would always get through tough times.



What does the term “student-athlete” mean to you?
To try as hard in school as you do in baseball and to make your school proud on and off the field.



What do you intend to major in?
I intend to major in either agricultural business or business.



What is your favorite sport to play other than baseball?
Football



What are some of your hobbies?
Hanging out with friends, girlfriend, going out to Clemson football games, riding four wheelers and playing ping pong.

What is something people don’t know about you?
I have double jointed toes and I’m ambidextrous.



What is your favorite movie?
Pineapple Express



What is your favorite thing to watch on television?
College Football and Sports Center



What type of music do you prefer?
Rap and rock

Play everyday like it's the World Series because so many people wish they had your opportunity
